The Scout: A Joe Robinet Collaboration

August 21, 2018 27 Comments

The Scout model is a collaboration knife between Adventure Sworn and Joe Robinet The knife is currently in the prototype stage.  It is estimated to launch this autumn.

The Scout is based off of the concept of the one knife that you would choose if you could only choose one knife, regardless of environment.  It essentially a light chopper designed for ultimate versatility, capable of any task you would throw at it anywhere in the world.  The model is named after Joe's dog, Scout, who has been with him on many of his outdoor trips.

Specs of Knife in Current Prototype Stage
Overall Length: Roughly 12-1/2"
Cutting Edge Length: Roughly 7-1/4"
Blade Thickness: 5/32"
Blade Edge Grind: Full Height Convex; might also be available in flat
Blade Steel: CPM 3V; might also be available in other steels
Base Price (not including sheath or handle material cost): Undecided

We will provide a much more detailed write-up as to the knife's specifications and design details soon.

The Scout next to the Classic.  The Scout is quite a bit larger, allowing it to be more useful in wood processing chores.

More info to come soon.

Please start production on this knife and sheath! With Christmas just around the corner I’ll be mighty disappointed if Santa doesn’t leave this under the tree for me.

I have been waiting for this knife to be available for purchase since Joe introduced it on his channel. If anybody knows what you need in a Bushcraft knife it’s Joe.

Sweet jesus, that’s beautiful. I love the slight forward (kukri-esque) cant to it. 7" feels a touch bigger than I’d favor, but materials, design, and overall build makes this a no-brainer. Depending on price point, sign me up!

PLEASE…..
offer the SCOUT in black micarta.
natural material handles LOOK GOOD, but a field blade gets wet, as you well know. natural materials can warp….nobody wants that to happen to a 500.00 knife.

Wow, it looks awesome! But I would like it in other steel, you won’t be able to sharpen cpm-3v in a survival situation
